Historic Tam O’ Shanter Sign Restoration – Canton, Ohio

Before the demolition of the historic Tam O’ Shanter golf course in Canton, Ohio, a client saved an original painted sign and trusted us to bring it back to life.

When the sign first arrived in our studio, it showed decades of weathering, fading, and surface damage. We began the restoration process by carefully filling old screw holes with wood filler, sanding the surface smooth, and applying a durable oil primer to ensure long-lasting protection. The sign’s details were then meticulously repainted by hand, restoring its vibrant colors and iconic character. To finish, we built a set of custom French cleats, allowing the client to easily mount the piece in his mancave as a one-of-a-kind piece of Canton history.
